Aero Sekur, società leader a livello mondiale nei prodotti in tessuti speciali e in gomma per il mondo della difesa, dello spazio, e dell’avionica, lancia il suo primo Mini-Bond per un valore complessivo di 5.000.000 euro.
Sarà uno strumento finanziario con durata di tre anni ed un rendimento del 5,75%. Il periodo di collocamento andrà dal 25 luglio al 25 agosto, mentre la data di emissione e regolamento sarà il 26 agosto 2016. Advisor ed arranger dell’operazione dell’emissione è Banca Promos Spa.
L’operazione di Aero Sekur contribuirà a finanziare il piano di investimenti triennale varato dal gruppo, per un importo di 4 milioni 350 mila euro nel periodo 2016-2018. In particolare, saranno realizzati programmi di ricerca e sviluppo per:
– ingresso in nuovi mercati per i sistemi di sicurezza degli elicotteri, Russia in primis;
– miglioramento dei prodotti di protezione balistica;
– sviluppo nuovi prodotti per la protezione NBCR.
Sono inoltre previsti:
– interventi per l’ampliamento della capacità produttiva e di adeguamento e potenziamento delle linee di produzione;
– Allestimento e qualificazione del sito di manutenzione a Pensacola (USA), destinato a supportare la commessa F35-JSF e a fornire supporto logistico e manutentivo a terzi.
Oltre che attraverso l’emissione del minibond, il piano sarà finanziato con il cash-flow generato dalla gestione.
I dati di gestione ricavati dal bilancio civilistico 2015 evidenziano ricavi per 36,6 milioni di euro, con un incremento del 12% rispetto all’anno precedente. Ai 18,5 milioni del fatturato del settore Aeronautica, si aggiungono i 15 del settore Difesa e i 3,1 milioni del settore Spazio. L’Ebitda infatti nel 2015 è di 3,4 milioni, pari a circa il 9% dei ricavi.
Grazie a un piano in ricerca e sviluppo, tradottosi negli ultimi 5 anni in oltre 12 milioni di investimenti, l’azienda ha potuto consolidare la sua presenza nel mercato internazionale ed entrare a far parte di alcuni tra i più importanti programmi per l’aerospazio e la difesa, finanziati da istituzioni nazionali e internazionali, in collaborazione con i principali player del settore.
L’eccellenza dei risultati ha avuto l’avallo del MIUR che nel corso di un convegno ha definito Aero Sekur “un esempio virtuoso” , unica Pmi dell’ Aerospazio ad aver vinto tre bandi internazionali nel primo anno di Horizon 2020, il programma quadro della Commissione Europea che finanzia i progetti per la Ricerca e l’Innovazione fino al 2020.
“Il nostro gruppo è in costante crescita. Il piano industriale prevede un incremento delle vendite di circa l’8% nel triennio, per effetto dell’aumento dei volumi di consegna attesi nei settori della difesa ed airborne”, dichiara l’Amministratore Delegato di Aero Sekur, Marco Borghesi. “Il ricorso al mercato dei capitali ci consentirà di accelerare il potenziamento e il consolidamento dei nostri programmi di espansione”.

Aero Sekur, costituita nel 1968, ha il suo quartier generale ad Aprilia (Latina). A partire dal 2001 l’attuale presidente, Silvio Rossignoli, ha dato impulso a un profondo processo di innovazione e diversificazione dell’azienda, affiancando al suo prodotto storico, il paracadute, i più sofisticati prodotti e servizi dedicati al mondo della difesa, dello spazio e dell’avionica, finalizzati ad assicurare la sopravvivenza delle forze di difesa e sicurezza, supportando l’operatività di elicotteri, mezzi aerei e di terra, sia civili che militari. Prodotti e servizi basati su software e tecnologie d’avanguardia e materiali innovativi in tessuti speciali e gomma.
L’azienda ha circa 230 dipendenti, di cui 36 ingegneri, tra Aprilia, Caselle Torinese, Arenzano (Genova) e San Pietro Infine (Caserta).
Le ultime iniziative sono state avviate dopo l’aggiudicazione dell’importante commessa per la realizzazione degli Shelter, “hangar gonfiabili” per il cacciabombardiere F-35, bandita da Northrop Grumman nel 2011: una struttura che copre l’aereo per la manutenzione “in campo”, accompagnata da condizionatori che consentono di lavorare nei climi più diversi, dal deserto alle zone artiche.
Applicazioni salvavita
L’impegno nella ricerca ha portato a nuove applicazioni nell’aerospazio e nella difesa. Dai galleggianti gonfiabili per elicotteri – airbag giganteschi – in caso di ammaraggio, incluse le zattere per l’equipaggio, ai serbatoi flessibili per automezzi blindati ed elicotteri. Se il serbatoio viene colpito da una pallottola, il foro si richiude in pochi istanti, per evitare l’uscita del carburante che provocherebbe un incendio. Un elicottero Mangusta delle forze armate italiane è stato colpito in Afghanistan: il serbatoio si è richiuso, il velivolo ha potuto proseguire il volo, l’equipaggio si è salvato.
“Tutto quello che produciamo ha a che fare con il tessile e l’aria. Quattro galleggianti tengono a galla un elicottero da 7 tonnellate», spiega il Presidente Silvio Rossignoli.

Aero Sekur nel mondo è presente con Aero Sekur Ltd in Inghilterra e Aero Sekur Inc. negli Stati Uniti. Per supportare la commessa F35-JSF e fornire supporto logistico e manutentivo a terzi, sarà allestito e qualificato un sito di manutenzione negli Usa.
AERO SEKUR LAUNCHES 5 MILLION EURO MINI-BOND
This is the first issue by the company, which is among the leading producers of special fabrics and rubber technology for the worlds of defence, space and aviation. The placement period is scheduled for July 25-August 25.
Aero Sekur, one of Europe’s biggest producers of special fabrics and rubber technologies for the worlds of defence, space and aviation, is launching its first mini-bond worth a total of 5 million euros.
The mini-bond will have a three-year term and a 5.75% annual return. The placement period will run from July 25 to August 25, while the date of issue and settlement will be August 26, 2016. Banca Promos Spa is acting as financial advisor and arranger for Aero Sekur.
The operation will help finance the three-year plan of investments drawn up by the group, worth a total of 4.35 million euros in the 2016-2018 period. A series of research and development programmes will be carried out with several goals in mind, including the entry into new markets for helicopter safety systems, Russia above all, the improvement of ballistic protection products, and the development of new products for NBCR protection. Interventions are also planned for the expansion of productive capacity and for the adjustment and optimisation of production lines, as well as the establishment and certification of the maintenance site in Pensacola (USA), aimed at supporting the F35-JSF order and providing logistical and maintenance support to third parties.
Aside from the mini-bond issue, the plan will also be financed by the cash flow generated by management.
In 2015, the company reported revenues of 36.6 million euros, up 12% compared to the previous year. The Aeronautical sector generated revenues of 18.5 million euros, while the Defence sector brought in 15 million euros and the Space division recorded revenues of 3.1 million euros.
EBITDA in 2015 amounted to 3.4 million euros, equivalent to about 9% of revenues.
Thanks to a plan of research and development which has led to 12 million euros of investments over the past five years, the company has been able to consolidate its presence in the international market and become involved in some of the most significant programmes in the aerospace and defence sectors financed by national and international players, alongside other leading companies in the industry.
The excellent results have gained the backing of MIUR (Italy’s Ministry of Education, Universities and Research), which described Aero Sekur during a conference as a “virtuous example”, being the only small and medium sized company in the aerospace sector to have won three international contests in the first year of Horizon 2020, the EU Commission programme to finance research and innovation projects up to 2020.

The industrial plan foresees an increase in sales of about 8% over the three-year period, due to the effects of the increase in expected delivery volumes in the defence and airborne sectors,” said Aero Sekur Chief Executive Marco Borghesi. “Tapping the capital market will allow us to accelerate the optimisation and consolidation of our expansion programmes,” he said.

Aero Sekur, founded in 1968, has its headquarters in Aprilia in Italy’s Lazio region. Since 2001, Chairman Silvio Rossignoli has pursued a programme of innovation and diversification. Alongside the firm’s traditional product, the parachute, Rossignoli has developed the most sophisticated range of products and services for the worlds of defence, space, and aviation, aimed at ensuring the survival of defence and security forces and supporting the efficiency of helicopters and both civil and military air and ground vehicles. Products and services are based on avant-garde software and technology and innovative materials, including special fabrics and rubber.
The company employs around 230 people, including 36 engineers, in Aprilia, Caselle Torinese, Arenzano (Genoa) and San Pietro Infine (Caserta).
The most recent initiatives were launched after winning a major order from Northrop Grumman in 2011 to produce “inflatable hangars” for the F-35 fighter jet. An inflatable hangar is a structure that covers the airplane for “on the field” maintenance, accompanied by air conditioners that make it possible to work in different climates, from desert to arctic zones.
Life-saving applications
Research efforts have also led to new applications in aerospace and defence. From inflatable floating systems for helicopters – gigantic airbags – in the case of landing on water, including rafts for the crew, to flexible fuel tanks for armoured vehicles and helicopters. If this type of fuel tank is hit by a bullet, its valve shuts off in a few moments to prevent fuel leakage that could start a fire. For example, when a Mangusta helicopter of the Italian armed forces was hit in Afghanistan, the fuel tank shut off, the aircraft was able to continue the flight and the crew were saved.
“Everything we produce has something to do with textiles and air. Four floating systems keep a seven tonne helicopter afloat,” said Rossignoli.
